Our Adult Summer Reading Program starts Memorial Day on Monday, May 25th through Labor Day on September 7th. Adults 18+ will have a chance to win prizes based on reading logs they complete and turn in listing the number of books, eBooks, and audiobooks they read. Prizes include a variety of gift cards to Netflix, Roma’s, Dominoes, Pizzoco, and more. Registration opens May 25th at www.handleyregional.org/asrp2020.
Reading logs are due by September 9th and each completed log is a chance to win. Participants will receive their reading logs through email or mail and completed logs can be emailed or mailed in to the library, or physically turned in to the library once the buildings open to the public.
“This is a great opportunity for adults to connect with the library system, win prizes, and have fun while reading,” says John Huddy, Director of Handley Regional Library System. “We have thousands of titles through eBooks, audiobooks, and graphic novels in our 24/7 digital library through Hoopla, RB Digital, and Libby. The Adult Summer Reading Program is something our patrons look forward to each season and is a fantastic way for adults who haven’t experienced their local library to get connected. There’s something for everyone.”
Library staff can also help take the guesswork out of what to read next even while the buildings are closed to the public adds Adrienne Davis, Adult Services Division Head for Handley Regional Library System.
“We are here to help in a number of different ways. We have several resources available on our website for reading recommendations including Novelist where you can search based on several factors you enjoy to read, our Next Reads newsletters where you can sign-up to receive monthly emails based on genres you select, and we have a Reviews and Recommendations webpage. Plus, we have a blog page just for adults where you can watch entertaining videos of library staff and read more about recommendations and helpful library tips. You can also email us email@example.com for personalized help. All of this is available at www.handleyregional.org/adults.”
