Over the past year, filmmakers Justin Grubb and Alex Goetz have been working with Conservation Centers for Species Survival, the Endangered Wolf Center, US Fish and Wildlife and a host of other institutions all dedicated to saving America’s rarest mammal to create an educational film aimed at inspiring action to prevent this animal’s second extinction in the wild.

In 1715, Angus “Quill” MacGregor, nephew of the infamous Highlander outlaw Rob Roy, sailed to the Caribbean to join the pirate rebellion fighting to place Catholic James Edward Stuart on the throne of Britain instead of the German-speaking Protestant George.

Back to School Help from Your Local Library
When you think about public library offerings for patrons, material books are usually the first thing that comes to mind. Handley Regional Library System has a lesser known collection of unique DVD movies donated by partner Winchester Alamo Film Club that would satisfy even the greatest fan of cult, foreign, and independent films.
Handley Regional Library System announces today the release of their annual library usage stats from fiscal year of July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020. Overall reports showed continued community usage despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The report reflects program and service usage at all 3 library locations – Handley Library, Bowman Library, and Clarke County Library. These stats, along with others, are reported annually by the library system for funding and analysis of additional initiatives.
Handley Regional Library System has announced a special initiative to their entire service area (Clarke and Frederick Counties and Winchester City) focused on providing students, parents/caregivers, and teachers back to school help with resources available from their local library.
The American Library Association (ALA) has compiled great resources for parents and caregivers to help children navigate these challenging times in a campaign called #LookToLibraries.

To connect with kids and teens virtually, the library staff at Handley Regional Library System announces a new series of online videos featuring book recommendations and activities for kids, teens, and families. The book spotlight videos premiere weekly on Mondays and are presented by library staff through an interactive format to develop and enhance core literacy and learning skills. Handley Regional Library System announces today the improvement of their mobile hotspot checkout program by switching fully to T-Mobile with devices available at all 3 library locations. Borrowers now have unlimited data and better internet connection, especially in more remote areas in Frederick and Clarke Counties. Currently, 39 devices are available for up to 1 week to one household/cardholder at a time due to high demand.
