A major thing that helps us in life is our executive functioning skills. Our executive functioning skills are essentially our ability to do planning, organization, and then follow through with that planning and organization by acting on it. Our executive functioning skills also heavily align with our basic bodily needs —like the thoughts to register when we will be hungry, make the meal, eat the meal, and then clean it up afterwards…even our emotions , and how we cope, play into this! Much of executive functioning is taught within the home but how? Chores are are great help, even for a toddler. We also have a new online parenting resource (Parent TV) that gives quick videos on anything and everything; simply check it out and search executive functioning.
