There's one more chance to attend our popular Archives After Hours event this year. The final one will be held on Thursday, October 24 @ 5:30 pm. If you haven't heard, each Archives After Hours event begins with a presentation concerning special items found within the collection and an explanation of how those items can help the researchers that visit the space.
This Archives After Hours is really special! Lorna Loring, Archives Manager, will be showcasing "a few of her favorite things" found within the Archives collection. Join Lorna as she showcases items that are rare, fascinating, and help tell our local story. Items range from one of the oldest letters in the collection written at the beginning the French and Indian War to an account about a Wild West Show from a lady sharpshooter, and much more!
After the presentation, join the staff for a behind-the-scenes tour of the archives space, including collection storage.
Whether this is your first time to the Archives, or you are a regular researcher of the space, this is the event for you! Due to the limited space in the archives, registration for the event is required. Please click here to register. If you have any questions, please contact the Archives at (540) 662-9041, Ext. 17
