Scrabble Club

It's a great way to meet other locals who share your love for Scrabble and enjoy an evening of fun and challenging gameplay.
Chess Club
Saturdays, 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Calling all chess enthusiasts! Our Chess Club is the perfect place to hone your skills, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player. Open to all ages and skill levels, this volunteer-run program offers a welcoming environment for everyone. We provide chess sets and space, and instructors are available when their schedules permit. Sponsored by the Stephens City Chess Club and the Shenandoah Valley Chess Club, our Chess Club is a wonderful opportunity to learn, play, and connect with fellow chess lovers.
Adult Game Night
Second Fridays, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Game night for adults is back by popular demand! Join us on the second Friday of each month for an evening of board games, card games, and trivia. Whether you prefer basic games or more complex ones, we've got something for everyone. Plus, snacks will be provided to keep your energy up as you test your luck and skills against other adults. It's a perfect way to unwind and have fun at the end of the week!
Puzzle Tournament

Are you ready for a fun challenge? Bowman Library's next Jigsaw Puzzle Tournament is just around the corner! Gather a team of 2-4 people, come up with a creative team name, and compete to finish the same 1000-piece puzzle in the shortest amount of time. The winning team will receive medals and bragging rights!
Registration opens on August 16, 2024, and you can register online, in person, or by calling us at 540-869-9000 ext. 203. Space is limited to 10 teams, so be sure to sign up early. Participants will also have the chance to take home some of our surplus puzzles, thanks to our generous patrons.
