Did you know that your library has resources to help you prepare for the SAT, ACT, and AP exams? Read on to learn how we can help you make taking these tests a little less stressful.
Just outside Handley Library's Teen & Tutor Room is a bulletin board with lots of good information. One of the resources we’ve included is the testing schedule for the SAT, ACT, and AP exams. QR codes to get more information and register are located at the bottom of that schedule. We also have homework help booklets on the bulletin board with book and online resource recommendations based on different school subjects.
You can find test prep books at all three branches, and they are also available to be placed on hold if you can’t find the exact one you’re looking for at your local branch. Try these search terms to find our prep book collection in the catalog:
- subject:"ACT Assessment -- Study guides."
- subject:"SAT (Educational test) -- Study guides."
- subject:"Advanced placement programs (Education) -- Examinations -- Study guides."
Looking for something online instead? HelpNow and Learning Express are two of our online resources. With HelpNow, logging in with your library card grants you access to a wealth of homework help and test prep tools, including live tutoring. Learning Express has practice tests for the ACT, SAT, AP Exams, and more. They also have a section all about how to write a college admissions essay. You do need to make an account to access these resources, but this is a quick process, and if you need any help, you can always feel free to contact us.
Finally, we know that preparing for these exams can be stressful and exhausting. Your library is also here for you when you need to take a break from studying. Come to one of our teen programs, and relax while doing a craft or playing a game. Check out an album to listen to on Hoopla, or find a new movie to watch on Kanopy.
We’re confident you will crush your exams, and just know that your library is here to help you succeed.
