We are excited to announce the following weekly updates and programs to the community:
Stay Calm and Read T-Shirts
The Friends of the Handley Regional Library System has sponsored t-shirts for library staff in the true spirit of library lovers with a message of “Stay Calm and Read, We Will Get Through this Together” printed on the shirt along with Friends and HRLS logos. Staff posed for photos at each library location – while practicing social distancing – for a little fun to show the public.
We have taken the NSV Pledge for Community Safety
Created by the Northern Shenandoah Valley COVID-19 Economic Response Team, consisting of Frederick County, Clarke County, the City of Winchester, the Lord Fairfax Small Business Development Center, and the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber, the OpenAndSafeNSV campaign is an effort to unite businesses in the region who pledge to abide by all orders and directives issued by governmental and public health officials to keep staff and community safe.
Chat Online with a Library Professional
We have a new, LIVE chat service available on our website. Staffed behind the scenes by actual library personnel, patrons can submit questions online from their mobile device or desktop computer about materials, library services, account information, and more. The chat widget is accessible on the website in the bottom right corner. More info here https://www.handleyregional.org/blog/new-online-chat-service-launched-help-library-patrons
