As part of our library's How to Day celebrations, Stewart Bell Jr. Archives will be holding a workshop on applying to Sons/Daughters of the American Revolution lineage societies. Katherine Collins, MLISc, will help explain the DAR organization and the benefits of joining. She will also be available to answer your questions, review applications, and assist with genealogical research issues. Joining her will also be representatives of the Sons of the American Revolution to explain the process and value of joining the SAR. The SAR will also have two guardsmen attending who will be dressed in Revolutionary War era uniforms.
Katherine Collins has graduate degrees in Library and Information Science and Counseling Psychology. She has over 20 years of experience as a college instructor, researcher, archivist, historian, and regional supervisor. She has taught workshops at the state and national level. She has proven her own armigers and is a member of many lineage societies including the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, and Associated Daughters of Early American Witches.
