About the Chorale:

We are the Valley Chorale of Front Royal, bringing top-notch choral music to the northern Shenandoah Valley since 1962. Our aim is to put great choral music at the heart of civic and community life and, in so doing, entertain, illuminate and uplift our families, friends and neighbors. The men, women and youth in our current roster of singers represent Frederick, Clarke, Warren, Page, Fauquier and Rappahannock counties.

Our repertoire covers a wide variety of genres and styles, from popular and contemporary to classical, sacred, popular, folk and world music with an emphasis on 20th- and 21st-century composers and arrangers.  We strive to include material that will engage our diverse audiences while challenging and enriching our singers.  The Chorale’s annual interfaith Christmas-season concert is a very popular local tradition of over a half-century. We also present a spring concert and perform at numerous civic and charitable events across the region.

Some of the tunes to be performed are:

“Let the River Run,” by Carly Simon.

“How Can I Keep from Singing,”

"Glow,” by contemporary composer Eric Whitacre

"Evening Prayer,” by contemporary Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo using words by St. Augustine.

"Sure on This Shining Night,” by contemporary composer Morten Lauridsen.
