Enjoy a program perfect for preschoolers to learn through stories, rhymes, movement, and song. Join us after Preschool Time for a craft or activity! (ages 3 & up)

Enjoy an early literacy program designed specifically for active toddlers with stories, songs, and more. Join us after to play and socialize! (ages 3 & under)

Toddlers, preschoolers, and their grown-ups are welcome to come boogie down! Meet the puppets afterwards! (all ages)

Play chess to learn or strengthen your skills of the game. Players of all ages and strengths are welcome to come and play. Gather each week to play casual and blitz chess games. Chess at Bowman Library is a student volunteer-run program. Chess sets and space are provided. Free! Sponsored by the Teen Advisory Board at Bowman Library.

Storytime for Toddlers (three and under) Bring your movers and shakers to a storytime designed especially for wiggly toddlers. Early literacy enhancing activities include books, music, movement, and more. Mondays at 11:00 a.m. Free, no registration required.

Storytime for infants (birth to 15 months). An early literacy program designed to introduce your babe to the joys of books, language, movement, and music! Learn fun baby games, nursery rhymes, and more! Meeting in the Bowman Library Children’s Room. Free, no registration required.

Kids of all ages can bring their favorite grown-up and build together using LEGO bricks, blocks, and KEVA planks.

Join us on Fridays at 4pm for a building challenge! Calling all builders, come build with us! LEGO® blocks and much more will be available. Bring your creativity and we will bring the supplies (All ages)

Join Dr. Diane from the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum on a winter reading adventure at Handley Library. Open to fifth, sixth, seventh, and eight graders. Members of the MMBS meet to share new and old favorites, hang out and read, and occasionally read a book together as well. Join us on Mondays from 4:00-5:00 in the Young Adult Room on the 2nd floor. Join the Shenandoah Valley Chess Club with open chess games and 1-on-1 instruction for new players. Lecture available @ 5:30 pm on chess basics and strategy. (all ages)

Kids and Teens Ages 8+ Thursdays @ 6-7pm Older children and teens can check out a controller for 30 minutes and play select multi-player Xbox games, including Minecraft and others. Bowman Library.

Do you enjoy a creative challenge? Tweens and teens are invited to use a collection of provided materials to produce the creative challenge of the week. BY the end of the evening, everyone will have their own masterpiece! (aged 12+)
