Do you have DNA results and wonder what to do with them-or perhaps wonder whether it is worth the expense to take a DNA test and if so, which one? The seminar, presented in two parts, will provide a general introduction to DNA Genealogy and include sections on understanding mt DNA, Y-DNA, and Autosomal DNA results.

Shannon Combs-Bennett, QG, PLCGS, is an award winning author and genealogical lecturer based out of Norther Virginia. She writes and speaks on a variety of topics from DNA to methodology. Her book, Genealogy Basics in 30 Minutes, won the 2017 IBPA Benjamin Franklin Silver Award. Shannon earned a BS in Biology with an emphasis in genetics from Indiana University and is completing her MSc in Genealogic, Heraldic, and Paleographic Studies from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. She is a member of several genealogy societies and currently serves as the Southeastern Regional Director of the International Society for Family History Writers and Editors.
