SCOPE AND CONTENT: This collection consists of histories of the chapter, awards, by-laws, and a scrapbook (1967-1968) concerning the Alpha Omega Chapter of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha International located in Winchester, VA.

BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: The Alpha Omega Sorority is a non-collegiate sorority and is part of the national organization called Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA), which formed in 1929. The ESA was the first non-collegiate sorority in America as a “What to Read Club” for women. The organization grew to over 1,200 chapters and participates in charity events. The organization’s single purpose is to inspire leadership and service by bringing good people together to pursue programs and projects that make a positive difference locally, nationally, and internationally. The local chapter, Alpha Omega, was chartered in September 1953 with 12 members.
