SCOPE AND CONTENT: This collection contains correspondence, Civil War items, recipes, Bible verses, and poetry from the Daniel Brindle family of Stephens City, VA. Items in the papers range from 1856-1935.1 folder 4/2015

HISTORICAL/BIOGRAPHICAL: Daniel Brindle was born in Pennsylvania, but moved to Stephens City, VA area as an adult. He was married to Mary Wise, who was also from Pennsylvania. Daniel died on August 21, 1866 and is buried in the Salem Church of Brethren Cemetery in Stephens City, VA. His wife Mary died on June 11, 1883 and is buried next to her husband.
