The Friends of the Handley Regional Library was incorporated in 1977 as volunteers were needed to staff the existing children’s area and to offer programs to the public. After the addition of the children's room and full-time staff in 1979, the Friends continued to help plan and produce programs for children. Since then, the goals of the Friends have expanded to include attracting community resources to make the programs possible, encouraging reading and use of the library, supporting staff and coordinating programs and fundraisers like book sales, readathons, genealogy/local history roundtables, writing workshops, and film festivals.

The collection is comprised of articles of incorporation, by-laws, board member lists, correspondence, newsletters, news clippings, scrapbooks, and other material concerning the Friends of Handley Regional Library. (4 boxes) Last updated 09/02.
