SCOPE AND CONTENT: This Alexander Walker and Bonnie Huffman Finley Collection contains material about local history and the Finley family as well as genealogical material on the Faulkner, Helpinstine, Kremer, and Maynard families. The collection includes copies of newspapers The Progressive Advocate and The Virginia Informer, published by Willard P. Gibson of Winchester, Va. for the City’s African American community.

BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: Alexander Walker and Bonnie Huffman Finley are long-time residents of Winchester, VA.
