Scope and Content: This collection contains the deed for Winchester, VA’s National Cemetery along with a brochure, news clippings, and other materials relating to the cemetery. Also included is a record of interments.

Biographical/Historical: The National Cemetery, located in Winchester, VA, was dedicated in 1866. Its five acres contain the graves of 4491 Union dead and 2381 unknown dead. The cemetery grounds contain special monuments set up by Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, memorials to the 6^th Army Corps, the regimental monuments of the 3^rd and 34^th Massachusetts, the 12^th, 13^th, and 18^th Connecticut, the 114^th New York, the 123^rd Ohio, and the 8^th Vermont.
