SCOPE AND CONTENT: The Sibert and Denny Jewelers Records consists of a ledger kept from 1901 to 1915 belonging to the business Sibert and Denny Jewelers of Winchester, Va. Several pages have been torn out.
BIOGRAPHICAL/HISTORICAL: Sibert and Denny Jewelers was located at 145 N. Loudoun Street, Winchester, VA. They were dealers in watches, clocks, silverware, and jewelry. James W. Sibert and Robert A. Denny owned this business, and, according to Winchester, VA City Directories, they were in business from 1898/99 until 1917. After Sibert died in 1914, Mifflin Clowe Sr. became Denny’s partner. Denny died in 1917 and the store was renamed Clowe Jewelry Store.
