  • By mail -  Donations may be mailed to:  Handley Regional Library, P.O. Box 58, Winchester, VA 22604. No cash, please.
  • At a library location -Book donations are not currently being accepted at any location.
  • Memorial/Honorary donation - You may choose to remember a special person or celebrate a special occasion with your donation. A letter acknowledging your donation will be sent to the honoree or family of the person memorialized. Please include a request with your donation that includes the name of the honoree/person memorialized, the address to mail the acknowledgement, and note the donation is a memorial or honorary donation.

    • Memorial/honorary donations may be dropped off at any Handley Regional Library location.

    Handley Regional Library Endowment Fund (formerly Funds for Books)

    When you make a donation or bequest to the Endowment Fund, you’re giving a gift that can be opened again and again. Donations of any amount are welcome. Donors who give $5,000 or more will have their names placed on the donor plaque at Handley Library and Bowman Library. Interest from the Endowment augments book and material purchases every year, no matter if state funding is up or down. In some years these funds have equaled up to 25% of the entire book and materials budget.  All donations to the Endowment Fund are fully tax deductible.Tax ID 54-1799279

    Used Book Sales

    Shop our Used Book Sales! Any proceeds from our sales go right back into the library.

    Donate gently used items at Donation Days! Dates for 2024 are June 4 & 5, August 24, September 28, and November 9.. Please review guidelines for donations before bringing items to the library. Email friends@handleyregional.org with questions.

     

    Donate a portion of your Virginia state tax refund

    Voluntary Contributions to be made from your refund. You may voluntarily donate all or part of your tax refund to the Library’s Endowment Fund. You may contribute even if you owe a tax balance or if you wish to donate more than your expected refund.

    Enter the contribution code 207101 and amount you are donating on Line 23 of your 760 Virginia state tax form.
     

    Friends of Handley Regional Library

    Joins the Friends of Handley Regional Library. The Friends of HRLS is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that fundraises and provides support for the library. Join here.
