The Handley Regional Library System is thrilled to announce "Rockin' the Library," a special event celebrating the joy of reading and creativity, in partnership with the Shenandoah University Children’s Literature Conference. The event will take place at the Handley Library's Mike Foreman Rotary Reading Garden on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
"Rockin' the Library" promises an unforgettable experience for book lovers of all ages. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet and interact with some of the most celebrated authors and illustrators in children's literature today. The stellar lineup includes:
- Sophie Blackall: Two-time Caldecott Medal winner known for her enchanting illustrations in "Hello Lighthouse" and "Finding Winnie."
- Brian Floca: Acclaimed author and illustrator of the Caldecott Medal-winning book "Locomotive."
- John Parra: Award-winning illustrator whose vibrant art has graced numerous beloved children's books.
- Doug Salati: Talented author and illustrator recognized for his beautiful storytelling and illustrations.
