Moonlight Magic Storytime

As we head towards a full moon this week, type #moonlight magic into the search bar above to start your journey on a thematic week of moonlight magic! You’ll find many wonderful books to read by the light of the moon (and your lamp!) such as Kitten’s First Full Moon by Kevin Henkes, Bringing Down the Moon by Jonathan Emmett, I See the Moon by Jacqueline Mitton, By the Light of the Moon by Fran Preston-Gannon, and Moon River by Johnny Mercer.

Place the books on hold with your library card and pin number. We’ll let you know when they’ve arrived so you can head over to pick them up!

Twinkling Stars
At night I see the twinkling stars, (wiggle fingers)
And the Great Big Shining Moon (circle arms)
My mama tucks me into bed (fist under chin)
And sings this goodnight tune (sing a lullaby)
I See the Moon Tune: Hush Little Baby
I see the moon and the moon sees me
Down through the leaves of the old oak tree
Please let the moon that shines on me
Shine on the ones I love.
Over the mountain, over the sea
Back where my heart is longing to be
Please let the moon that shines on me
Shine on the ones I love.

El Sol is de Oro
El sol es de oro
La luna es de plata
Y las estrellitas
Son de hoja de lata.

The sun’s a gold medallion. (large circle)
The moon’s a silver ball. (small circle)
The little stars are only tin; (flash fingers)
I love them best of all.  (hug self)
