New Wonderbooks at Your Library

Reading Skills Get a Boost with New Wonderbooks - the Books that Read Out Loud – at Your Local Library

Introducing Wonderbooks - the book with a built-in audiobook player where kids can listen to the story as they read-along!  Over 100 popular titles – including Spanish and bilingual selections - have been added including picture books, graphic novels, and chapter books.  Each book also features a “Learning Mode” where the audio asks a series of open-ended, educator-vetted questions to help with reading comprehension and ongoing dialogue.  Wonderbooks can be found at all 3 library locations and reserved online. Patrons may borrow 3 Wonderbooks per library card.

More details, including borrowing guidelines are available here.

“Our new Wonderbooks are literally flying off the shelves – they are super popular since we first put them out to test,” says John Huddy, Director of Handley Regional Library System.  “Reading along to the story helps kids improve their reading skills.  When you add the audio and listening component, readers can improve reading speed, expand their vocabulary, enhance comprehension, and build confidence.”
