Tech Tuesdays at Bowman Library

We have a new series of free technology workshops called Tech Tuesdays at Bowman Library starting September 17th every Tuesday at 11AM. The workshops are led by George Williams from Senior Technology Services and are free and open to the public. Each session includes 40 minutes guided instruction followed by 40 minutes for Q&A and will cover Windows 10 basics, using your Android, iPhone, and iPad mobile devices, understanding Gmail and Google Drive, and more.  Attendees are encouraged to come ready with their technology questions and are encouraged to bring their own laptops or mobile devices.  Registration and the full class schedule is located online at www.handleyregional.org/techtuesdays or by calling the Information Desk at Bowman Library at 540.869.9000.

September 17th | Take out the garbage and learn Windows 10         

Learn how to clean up, speed up, and protect your PC. Plus get the basics for Windows 10 including using the start menu with tiles, customizing the desktop, using the control panel, and keyboard shortcuts. Learn about malware threats and how to tell if a computer is infected.


September 24th  All Things Android    

This week, George will be joined by Android expert and Sprint Branch Manager Thomas Robinson. Learn how to navigate commonly used features on your smartphone or tablet. Afterwards, there will be time for answering your questions. Don't forget to bring your device.

October 1     All Things Apple – iPhones and iPads 

This week, George will be joined by Apple OS expert and Sprint Branch Manager Thomas Robinson. Learn how to navigate commonly used features on iPhones and iPads. Afterwards, there will be time for answering your questions. Don't forget to bring your device.


October 8     Understanding the Cloud – including Gmail and Google Drive basics

Are you taking advantage of Google Drive features or other Cloud services? Find out how plus learn to manage your Inbox, download attachments, and other email basics. One-on-one assistance will be provided after to get help setting up an email account.


October 15  Can you Stump the Chump?     

Join us for our last 2019 Tech Tuesday with George Williams from Senior Technology Services. Do you have a question that will stump our favorite tech expert? Bring your own laptop or device and your toughest or most pestering questions for George. Have a task you have been putting off? Now is the chance to get help and get it done.
