Personalized Book Match Service to Help the Community with Reading Recommendations

We are helping book lovers answer the age old question of “what to read next” with their new, personalized service called Book Match.  To use the free service, patrons simply answer a few quick questions on an online form on the library system’s website about preferred reading formats, a description of recently enjoyed books, genres/books you do not want to read, and more.  Library staff will receive an email and begin an in-depth search to compile a list of suggested reads within a few days and send the patron a personalized

The Strength of Women: New Display on the Suffragette Movement

In August, we remember the Suffragette movement.  Our display this month shows elements of the local fight for women’s right to vote.  In particular, the display highlights Fannie Baker Dunlap, who registered for the vote on October 2, 1920 at 56 years of age, and Mary Elizabeth Pidgeon, a member of the Equal Suffrage League of Virginia.
